Raeburn Orchard Romance with Mikayla + Jake

In every shoot there is this moment, where the couple begins to forget there is even a camera there, and they just relax into being together. Like when Mikayla jumped on Jakes back and belly laughed. Those moments are what make me love my job. Those real moments. They light up the lens, but more importantly, they bring back all the feels for years to come. M&J I can’t wait to do it all again on the big day in November xx A

Seven Reasons Why I Love A Pre Wedding Shoot

Pre wedding shoots are by far my favourite sessions, but couples often ask me why they are worth doing. So here is my list of SEVEN brilliant reasons to book one of these before your big day!

1) You can have fun and reconnect - sometimes its nice to escape the planning, and remember why you are getting married!

2) You can get comfortable in front of the camera - if you are someone who is particularly awkward in front of the lens (like I am) and you’re nervous about getting photos done on your wedding day, dismiss the fear by getting in front of a camera and seeing how much fun you end up having.

3) You can get messy! If you love the outdoors but are concerned about mixing heels with sand, and salt water with your couture gown, then have the best of both worlds by getting messy at your pre shoot!

4) You can bring along your furry friends - a wedding day is sometimes a bit too full on for your furry family member to handle, so take them to their favourite park, or curl up on the couch and get some snaps together.

5) You can do the stuff you enjoy doing together - prancing around in a suit and dress may not be what the two of you normally do together, so keep it real and let me tag along on a ‘day in the life of’ you!

6) You can go somewhere difficult to reach - maybe your faourite spot together is somewhere really hard to get to with a bridal party and wedding guests in tow, so get your walking shoes on and go off road in a pre session.

7) You can use the photos at your wedding - this is a beautiful way of visually sharing your story with your wedding guests!

Intimate Forrest Pre Wedding Session

There was something so incredibly tender about these two, as they wandered through the forrest, demonstrating their terrible dancing skills, and kissing ALOT!!! I felt privileged to be allowed into their world, because it's a really beautiful world actually. They love each other.  Truly and deeply.  And it just makes everything sweeter.

Peasholm Beach Pre Wedding of Scotty Blue + Kaitlyn

Pre wedding shoots are THE BEST!! The session started with the classic 'I'm awkward in front of the camera, I don't know if we are going to photograph well', and ended with half naked bodies making out in the water. So I'm gonna call it a win!!! S+K you were flipping hilarious to hang out with, and gorgeous to boot, THANK YOU for letting me join the fun!

The Surprise Engagement of Noelle and Simon

This is the first and (I'm pretty sure) last time I will ever get the pleasure of attending a house-warming-30th birthday-surprise engagement party!  Seriously WAY too much fun for one night, Noelle and Simon, THANK YOU for letting me in on the secret and letting me catch all the shock and joy on your friends faces!!

Kings Park Pre Wedding Wanderings

These two cuties are about to head off for their wedding in the Phillipines, but wanted to showcase the city that they love for their pre wedding photos, and despite some rain showers,  Perth didn't disappoint (even the jacarandas were showing off)!!  N+R it was so lovely getting to be part of your wedding journey xxx

Fremantle Pre Wedding Frolicks

You couldn't wipe the smiles off these two beautiful faces as they explored Fremantle together. Not only do they share (almost) the same name - Jordan and Jordana, but they share a love for life that is infectious!  Guys, I CAN'T WAIT to photograph your wedding!!!

Fig Trees and Fallen Leaves Pre-Wedding Session

This shoot started with a competition and a challenge... these two cool cats were the winners of the FREE Pre-Wedding Photography Package at the Mounts Bay Sailing Club Wedding Showcase in May, but were convinced that they weren't photogenic.  My mission was to prove them wrong! No denying I won hands down :-)  We met at the gorgeous Mounts Bay Road figs opposite the Old Brewery, and spent an hour goofing around in the leaves and finding cute little nooks amoungst the trees.  Thanks A+N for being such good sports!  You are a pretty fantastic couple xx

Inspiring Industrial Venue in South Perth - Halo Espresso

If you are looking for a vibey venue for your next function, take the time to check out Halo Espresso!  The perfect size for birthday parties, engagements or intimate wedding receptions, this hidden gem in South Perth with it's exposed brick and distinctly industrial features is an absolute beauty.  Add to this the great staff, flexible function packages and close proximity to the CBD, and you have yourself the whole shabang!  Oh, and did I mention that all profits go to amazing social enterprises in some of the poorest countries around the world! BOOM!

Leederville Pre Elopement Session!!!

These two crazy kids (and I say kids with a big smile on my face because they have not lost the joy and laughter of childhood) led me on a merry chase around Oxford Street and Hyde Park, pausing here and there to enjoy each other! As they will soon be dashing off to a romantic elopement on a tropical island they wanted a chance to celebrate their love for each other through the streets their home in Perth.  It could not have been a more fun afternoon, a huge thank you K+J for letting me see the world through your eyes!

Childhood Sweethearts Engagement Session

I literally got goosebumps when Miss P told me their plans for our session.  We started at the playground where they used to hang out as youngsters, and at the climbing frame where she first realised she loved him.  Then we found the wooden post that he had carved their initials into, and finally to the beachfront where he proposed!!  Even the cold and wind couldn't dampen this couples love and enjoyment of each other... when they looked into each others eyes it's like nothing else mattered!

City to Surf Adventure Engagement Shoot

I absolutely LOVE it when couples put thought into telling their own unique love stories!  These two went to town recreating all the significant moments of their relationship, which took us from the South Perth foreshore, to the waves of City Beach, to a juice bar and finally a kebab shop (with several props and costume changes, including but not limited to, the 'free with purchase' beer caps, and the must have 'back-to-front cat dress').  What can I say, love grows in (sometimes) strange ways!  I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
