Families

Introducing Riley Rose

It was only 2 years ago that I met this beautiful couple with their first little newborn Miss Maddie, and it is one of the great pleasures of my work to be able to witness families, like theirs, grow.  The latest addition, the adorable Riley Rose is perfect in every way, and is so blessed to be born into this home full of love and laughter.

Introducing Indiana

It was such a joy seeing this beautiful couple again, celebrating the birth of their second gorgeous girl, the incredible Miss Indiana!  And my goodness has her sister grown since I last saw her when she was only a few days old.  Where this home is short on sleep, it makes up for in cuddles and cuteness!  B+A you are doing a fantastic job!!!!

A DEEPER LOVE....

I would have to say that the greatest part of my job is getting to spend time with people who love each other!!! The thrill of an engagement, the grandeur of the wedding day, the glow of pregnancy, the awe of the first child, the chaos of the children that follow; all moments of love, forever immortalised.  But how can love look so different?  And how does it stand the test of time? I came across this quote by C.S.Lewis on someone's newsfeed this week, and it caught in my mind, because I think it's true and because I think it's worth celebrating.

“Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing... It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. Now no feeling can be relied on to last in its full intensity, or even to last at all. Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last but feelings come and go. And in fact, whatever people say, the state called ‘being in love’ usually does not last...Who could bear to live in that excitement for even five years? What would become of your work, your appetite, your sleep, your friendships? But, of course, ceasing to be ‘in love’ need not mean ceasing to love. Love in this second sense — love as distinct from ‘being in love’ — is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit...They can have this love for each other even at those moments when they do not like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself. They can retain this love even when each would easily, if they allowed themselves, be ‘in love’ with someone else. ‘Being in love’ first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep the promise. It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it.

Hyde Park Family Photos

They predicted thunderstorms, but we fearlessly proceeded, and were rewarded with a glorious afternoon!  The sun came out to play as we went on an exploration expedition through Hyde Park! These kids COULD NOT be cuter if they tried, and I am stunned by their eyes every time I look at them!  H&S thank you for a wonderful time with your family xxx

Gosnells Rustic Family Photos

We found a field of golden grass with one magnificent mulberry tree in the middle of it, and we knew we had arrived at the perfect location for our afternoon of fun family photos!  We raced, we climbed trees, we rolled in the grass, and not a single juicy stain remained (a miracle in my books).  G&M it was such a pleasure spending time with your beautiful family xxx

Double the fun in Kings Park

This gorgeous family of 3 quickly became a family of 5 when Hank and Rose arrived on the scene!   Our afternoon in Kings Park consisted of Olivia demonstrating her botanical prowess, while the twins made ridiculously expressive faces, ensuring that every frame of this photo shoot was a surprise and delight! M&B my hat is off to you guys, you are raising a beautiful family xxx

Family Photos in Kings Park

Mum Dad and I spent an energetic afternoon trying to keep up with these three gorgeous and energetic little boys as they cavorted through Kings Park! There were bubbles and balls and lots and lots of running, but the results were beautiful.   K&J thank you for letting me play with your little tribe xxx

Introducing Cleo

I never cease to be struck by the glorious unpredictability of life! We make our plans, and then we are blessed with something infitinitely more beautiful! This gorgeous couple first sat down with me over a year ago to plan their wedding for December last year, but by the time December came they were a family of three and thoughts of wedding dresses were replaced with nappies! So this December, when they actually do tie the knot, they will have a 12 month old expression of their love walking down the aisle with them! Amazing!

Tania and her Beach Boys

This is the second time I've had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family of four, and oh my have these boys grown up!! It was a fun afternoon of enjoying the waves and trying to keep up with the two cheeky monkeys :-) I hope I get to do it again!
